Most buildings don’t have their own holidays. Most buildings aren’t the Astrodome.
A crowd of more than 20,000 turned out Thursday evening for the Eighth Wonder’s 50th Anniversary, hoping to share a slice of the Dome-shaped birthday cake and catch a glimpse of a building owned by the public, paid for by the public, but closed to the public for more than a decade.
