Join us for the 3rd Annual Race for the Dome — a 5K road race and 1K kids fun run around the 8th Wonder of the World, our landmark Astrodome

Grab your family and friends and celebrate the 58th anniversary of the opening of the iconic Astrodome with a race though NRG Park and a post-race birthday party adjacent to the Dome.  

• 1K kids fun run circles the Astrodome and begins at 8:00 am

• 5K road race begins follows a route around the Dome and through NRG Park with a start time of 8:15 am

• Post-race party kicks off with an awards ceremony at 9:00 am

• Awards for top 3 male and female overall competitors, and top three kids finishers

Race for the Dome benefits the Astrodome Conservancy and supports our work to ensure a bright future for the iconic Astrodome.  The Astrodome Conservancy is the champion of the Astrodome on behalf of the people of Houston and Harris County.  Our work brings together ideas, resources, and leadership to save and redevelop the 8th Wonder of the World.
